The Swedish Committée for Afghanistan
Yesterday the Swedish Committée for Afghanistan had their yearly congress. This year the congress took place in the Latin school of Malmö (south of Sweden, aprox. 1 hour from where I live). As the convener of the election board I had quite alot to keep my eyes and mind on...
It all went well, especially as I'm not at all afraid of public speaking!! There were about 100 persons in the audditorium, mostley people that I know. The first time I took the microphone in my hands i shivered like mad- but the second time....I didn't feel even the littlest thing of nervs.
I was dressed for success! Me in my mums livingroom before I left.
It was a very nice day in Malmö and it was lovely to meet fellow SCA:ers from all over Sweden and to meet our guestd from Afghanistan.
Thouh, sadley, I had to leav early, my body didn't want as much as I did and "we" couldn't really agree on staying for the whol day. Pain was a torture as I had to sit and stand, and "run" up to the podium every single minute and the fact that I had my chemo injection less than a week ago. But also, I'm not at all used to be on the go for that many hours in a row, my body just can't take it.
Nevertheless, I'm glad that I went!! Just to meet freinds, "collegues" and people you just know by their voice on the phone or their writen word in an e-mail. It was lovely to have a face in mind when you hear their voices or read their e-mails in the future!
I'm very pleased, and so proud!!!, with the things the election board and I did accomplish!!! I'm so greatfull for my "collegues" Jenny, Peter, Nader and Linnéa!
I would also like to give a speciall thank to some of the people in SCA that have been supporting me during the last years of hardship, illnesses and my fight to still be able to be a part of SCA. Thanks to these people I've been able to feel that I have a little island of hope in the middle of all the dispair!

Without you it wouldn't be possible for me to have a meningfull "hobby" and a scance to be a part of something larger than myself!!
